Lilies Wall Manger Paintings
Trompe l'oeil arrangements to decorate a wall space with flowers all year round. I love painting flowers, they symbolise the cycle of life to me and with these paintings I can have any arrangement I want without the need for dead-heading, weeding or watering!

Sunflowers Diptych
Oil on two canvasses 2 x 40 x 30 inches £1900 Sunflowers feed my obsession and intrigue with fractal patterns, colour and life cycles. My painting celebrates all that is wonderous about life; growth, energy conversion, design, beauty and the inexplicable 'God Particle.' I like the realistic study of blossoms at the front combining fading to the more impressionistic style on the horizon with the Turneresque golden sky adding drama. |
Green Tara
Oil and 24 carat gold on Canvas 80 x 100cm £1500 This was an absolute joy to paint! Green Tara brings comfort and compassion to those who require help and every brushstroke felt meaningful and purposeful! The hand gestures (mudras), flowers and adornments are all symbolic and I have added 24 carat gold leaf to Tara's crown to emphasise her importance and status. We have placed our Green Tara print in the garden and she is just beautiful sat amongst the garden flowers! |
Golden Buddha
Oil on Canvas 100 x 80 x 4cm £1500 My Golden Buddha is layered with copper, pinks and gold tones that reveal themselves in different light and the serene face shimmers and reflects the surrounding foliage with calmness and contentment. This Buddha emerges from natural fractal patterns found in nature that represent re-growth and the cycle of life. I have used oil bars and oil paint on top quality linen canvas stretched over a bevel frame. The canvas sides are painted and the canvas can be hung without the need for framing. |

Jimi Hendrix
Oil on Canvas
120 x 100 x 4.5cm
My main objective in this portrait of Jimi Hendrix, was to capture the energy, excitement and pulsing vibrations of electric sound that he generated through his playing. I have used rich tones of warm reds, oranges and soft yellows to provide the heat and sharp electric blues to add the spark. Close inspection will reveal an impasto of swirls creating Jimi's iconic hair style that then spin off into fractal patterns to create movement.

Love Birds
Oil on Canvas
100 x 120cm
£1900
One of the great things about being an artist is the opportunity to paint your dreams and here is my dream of romantic escapism! I admire the art and culture of India, I love the scent and freshness of an orange grove and can't think of anything more romantic than showing off my beautiful wife whilst riding an elephant adorned with rich Indian artistry. The patterns extend across the scene connecting everyone and everything in a celebration of unity.

BIllie Holiday
Oil on canvas
120 x100 x 3cm
£1500
I have portrayed Billie as the style icon she was with Gardenia in her coiffed hair and perfect make up. Knowing Billie Holiday's back story, makes this painting more poignant as the audacity of a female black person to flaunt wealth and style was publicly vocalised at the time but Billie Holiday didn't care. The flowers in Billie's hair belie the harshness of her chaotic life, we see their beauty whilst not recognising what they have endured.

Woolly Mammoth
Oil on Canvas 120 x 100cm Woolly was painted as a graduation gift for my youngest son and was symbolic as his four years at university, studying jazz violin, was indeed a 'mammoth' achievement! I really enjoyed painting this pre-historic giant whilst musing the pros and cons of the natural and uncomplicated world of our distant ancestors. Original painting not for sale prints available |

John Lee Hooker
Acrylic on Canvas
100 x 80cm
Everything is immense and monumental about this painting. I wanted to almost sculpt this icon of the Blues and I have filled the canvas with his presence. He sits, like a god and oozes coolness.

Poppies
Oil on Canvas
100 x 80cm
£1500
This painting is full of contrasts from colours to coolness and warmth, wildness to cultivation and fragility to strength. The red to green combination creates a three dimensional depth of coolness (enhanced if you view through 3D cinema glasses!) against the sizzling golden yellow sky.

Ox Eye Daisies
120 x 100 x 4cm
Oil on Canvas
The daisy painting attempts to capture that perfect Summer's day with a 'lying in the meadow' point of view. sometimes the simplest of compositions provide the most dramatic effects and I think the natural elegance of the daisies against the clear blue sky evoke a sense of freedom and stillness.

Ravi Shankar
Oil on Canvas
60 x 80cm
£1500
A classical style painting of a classical sitarist. I enjoyed working on the details and contrasting textures of the cloth and the sitar. Ravi's posture and look of concentration give this painting a sense of calmness and I love to study the painting whilst listening to some of his beautiful music.

Biggie Smalls
Oil on Canvas Board
40x x 30 cm

King of Rap and an icon for many young people, I have painted The Notorious B.I.G in playful mode with a party hat at a jaunty angle. The flat rich red gives this painting a regal feel and the shiny paper hat contrasts well with the thick gold necklace

Charles Lloyd
Oil on Canvas
60 x 40 x 3cm
A commissioned painting of Jazz Saxophonist Charles Lloyd wearing one of his infamous hats. I have tried to capture the concentration and meaningful effort Charles Lloyd puts into every note he plays. The painting is a classical style portrait of one of the Jazz greats in a light contemporary style.

Esperanza Spalding
Oil on Canvas 60 x 46cm x 4cm £450 This amazing American artist is a multi talented musician, poet, dancer and radiates energy and passion for her craft. She is already a Jazz legend being the first Jazz musician to win the New Artist award at the Grammy's in 2011 and I felt I just had to add her to my collection.
