From the Lautrec Jazz Series. Based on Lautrec's Reine de Joie (1892), I have depicted the relationship between Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald in a caricature poster style that I think captures the essence of the period. I like how Lautrec used areas of flat black and minimalist lines to depict form and I think it works well in this painting.
